Ms Doris Bingley is the President of the European Centre of the International Council of Women (ECICW), the Hon General Secretary of the National Council of Women of Malta (NCW Malta) and member of the Board of the International Council of Women (ICW). She graduated as a teacher and apart from teaching, she dedicated her time to philanthropic work in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. She has held a wide range of posts among them President United Nations Women’s Organisations, President of the Lions Clubs, Member of the Commonwealth Foundation Civil Society Advisory Committee, Member of the Commonwealth Foundation Board and Executive Committee, and alternate member of the European Economic and Social Committee. Her expertise includes promoting the participation of women in decision-making, women’s rights and strengthening the organizations for the advancement of women. She participated and made presentations in Conferences in Europe and Internationally. She represents NCW in various Government committees. In 2011 she was recognized by the Commonwealth Secretariat and awarded the title of Woman Agent of Change for the Commonwealth.
