Taking the MCVS Training Program into the next step

After the success of the training sessions being and following the request from Voluntary Organisations, the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector took the next step! The Training Seminar was intended to discuss deeper the issues which effect the running of Voluntary Organisations in Malta and Gozo, sharing good practices and discussing what type of training is required by Voluntary Organisations to face the challenges ahead. This seminar will help in the preparation of the Training Program for 2014/2015 by the MCVS.
This Training was open to those involved in the running and management of a voluntary organisation, committee members, team leaders etc. These training sessions will help in the recruitment and management of volunteers, fund raising, public relations, finance and much more.
The seminar was held on Saturday 30th November 2013 at the Dolmen Resort Hotel, Qawra with a participation of 120 VO Administrators.
The sessions held were “Finance” by Mr. Ian Azzopardi, “Innovative Enterprise” and “Fundraising Techniques” by Mr. Nathan Farrugia, “Strategy Planning and Mapping” and “Communications and Campaigning” by Mr. Robert Farrugia, “Managing Volunteers and Staff” by Mr Joe Gerada, “Legal and Governance” by Mr. Sebastian Micallef and “Managing Volunteers and Staff” and “Networking & Sharing Best Practices” by Mr. Mauro Pace Parascandalo.
There was also a presentation by Ms Angela, Microsoft Citizenship Manager – Malta on the “Real Impact for a Better Tomorrow – Microsoft Community Software Donation Program”.
Towards the end of the event came to an end the participants were addressed by Mr. Mauro Pace Parascandalo, Executive Secretary MCVS.
The Closing address was done by the Hon. Minister Helena Dalli, Minister for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties.
