This event is part of the Work In Progress Seminar Series (organised by the University of Malta). Film-maker Roland Mandiaya Sumani Seini will show attendees his documentary, followed by a talk and discussion:

Documentary: Naa Gbewa, a prince and cavalry man, came and established his empire in the area of modern-day Ghana, Burkina Faso and Togo. He was the first king of modern-day Ghana and the first to introduce chieftaincy as a system of government in this region. The documentary is about the roots of his empire, how it grew and finally fell apart. The main purpose of the project is to educate Ghanaians in the world, especially those from Northern Ghana about their connection to each other thereby promote peace and economic development in this region of Ghana.

The event is free for whoever would like to attend.
