52 new community projects through the Community Support Scheme

Grant awards ceremony 2026

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) has distributed around €1.1 million in funds, allocated for 2026, to 40 voluntary organisations and 12 local and regional councils for the implementation of 52 new projects.

This follows a competitive process open to eligible entities under the Community Support Scheme (CSS), which was available to those that currently do not qualify for European Union funding under the LEADER programme.

The projects include initiatives related to environmental protection and enhancement, small-scale community projects aimed at improving quality of life within localities, as well as restoration and conservation interventions involving public spaces, historic structures, or cultural elements of value to the community.

As with all MCVS funding schemes, list of beneficiaries, funded projects, and amount allocated for each project can be found at vofunding.org.mt. Click HERE for the CSS results.
