The Government of Malta acknowledges the essential contribution of voluntary organisations and the significant socio-economic value they generate within the community. In recognition of the specialised support provided by organisations operating in the fields of disability and animal welfare, an incentive is being introduced to ease operational costs related to electricity and water consumption, which are currently billed at non-residential rates.

MCVS, within the Ministry for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector, is therefore issuing this Expression of Interest (EOI) for voluntary organisations that fall within these sectors and wish to be considered for this credit. Eligible organisations, who should be registered and compliant with the Office of the Commissioner for VOs, will be assessed on the basis of their registration status and the nature of the services they provide.

VOs meeting the criteria are invited to complete the EOI form HERE.

Interested voluntary organisations are required to submit their Expression of Interest by not later than noon of Friday 9th January 2026.
