Free Training Sessions on Risk Management in Projects

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is collaborating with Laura Sue Armeni to deliver free, practical training in Risk Management in Projects. This course is designed to strengthen your ability to anticipate challenges and respond effectively, supporting you to identify, assess, and mitigate risks when planning, developing, and executing projects within your VO. Participants will gain hands-on tools, structured approaches, and real-world insights that can be immediately applied to improve project outcomes and organisational resilience.

What the training will cover

  • Introduction to the importance of risk management in project planning, including different types of risks
  • How to identify and categorise risks using practical tools such as risk registers and assessment matrices
  • How to develop mitigation strategies, including how to monitor and review risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Embedding risk awareness in VO workplace culture, with a focus on communication, team responsibility, and proactive decision-making  

Date: Wednesday 6th May, 5:30pm – 8:30pm (single session)

Location: This session will be held online via Zoom.

Important information

  • The deadline to submit your registration is 12pm on the 30th April, 2026. 
  • Each voluntary organisation may apply for a maximum of 2 volunteers, however each participant is to submit their individual registration form with their personal details. Each training session will have an intake of a maximum of 40 participants, so we encourage VOs to submit their application as soon as possible to secure their spot.
