MCVS National Conference 2025 announced – book now!

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is organising a National Conference on ‘Shaping the Future of Volunteering – A Strategic Vision & an Enabling Legislation’.

This is being held on Saturday 17th May between 9am and 1pm at the Westin Dragonara Point Ballroom, St. Julian’s. Registration is free of charge for members of enrolled VOs and a stand-up networking lunch will follow at 1pm for everyone attending the conference.

This conference will look into the need for a modern, inclusive framework to support voluntary work in Malta. Key discussions will centre around the national strategic vision aimed at empowering volunteers, fostering sustainability, and enhancing collaboration across sectors. Emphasis will also be placed on the legislative reforms to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and strengthen governance within the voluntary sector.

The conference will also look into the European perspective, with a key-note intervention by Gabriella Civico, Director of the Centre for European Volunteering (CEV). Workshops will be facilitated by MCVS in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner for VOs (OCVO).

Interested members of VOs are invited to fill in the form linked below to reserve a place at the conference. All participants will attend both workshops planned, which will be related to the new Legislations and Procedures, and the new National Strategy for 2025-2030 respectively.

N.B. Conference will take place in Maltese with the exception of foreign speakers. In view of this, English to Maltese and Maltese to English interpretation will be provided.

Booking is limited and will be available on a first-come first-served basis until Friday 2nd May 2025 at noon or until conference is fully-booked.
