Information about the course:

MCVS has signed an agreement with the University of Malta to launch, for the first time ever, a Certificate in Volunteering Studies. This course, which will open in October 2024, will be held on three evenings a week for one academic year. This Certificate in Volunteering Studies is intended to support the practice of volunteers in a diverse range of areas, by imparting the knowledge, skills and values required for them to make an ethical, effective and sustainable impact in their fields of practice.

The course is divided into seven study units. One study unit runs throughout the year, and coaches students in personal development and reflective practice. In addition, between October and January, three study units aim to deepen students’ understanding of the voluntary sector and of NGOs within it; the challenges and best practices in recruiting and supporting volunteers; and to strategy and planning in NGOs. The three units between February and May coach students in helping skills for volunteers, and they also focus on governance, management and evaluation of NGOs.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Applications close on Friday 13th September 2024.
