A volunteer bank has been launched to connect professionals with voluntary organisations that need professional support. This initiative, named ProACT – PROviders and Communities Together, will provide an opportunity for professionals, companies, students, and individuals with various skills to donate a number of service hours.
The initiative will be included on the MCVS portal volunteers.mt and is targeted at all kinds of professionals and companies wishing to contribute meaningfully to society as part of their corporate social responsibility. Whether lawyers, notaries, architects, or teachers — and even professionals in various other fields such as marketing, accounting, web development, manual work, and any professional services offered by companies — they will be able and are encouraged to apply.
At the same time, MCVS will run a parallel system to gather information about the needs and professional support required by organisations. This will allow MCVS to conduct a matching process to allocate the hours pledged by professionals with the requests from organisations, fostering collaboration and further strengthening the voluntary sector.
The launch of this scheme took place on the first day of the Public Service Expo Village 2025, where, until the end of this week, professionals, companies, organisations, and the general public attending the Expo will be able to receive more information about this and other initiatives by MCVS.
