MCVS has launched the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme (VOPS) and the Small Initiatives Support Scheme (SIS) call for applications for 2027 projects. Applications will be open at vofunding.org.mt as follows:
- SIS: from Wednesday 9th September at noon and closes on Wednesday 7th October 2026 at NOON;
- VOPS: from Wednesday 23rd September at noon and closes on Wednesday 21st October 2026 at NOON.
Total budget allocated for VOPS projects is €800,000 and for SIS €180,000. With regards to VOPS, again, there are four different funding stream actions. Information meetings will also be held in order to guide VOs during the application process.

MCVS is organising a series of information meetings following the opening of SIS & VOPS. These will be held as follows:
SIS: Friday, 11th September @ 10 AM and Tuesday, 15th September @ 5:30 PM – link to register HERE. Registration open until Thursday 10th September at noon.
VOPS: Monday 28th September @10am and Tuesday 29th September – link to register HERE. Registration open until Friday 25th September at noon.

Jerġgħu jitħabbru l-iskemi ta’ fondi VOPS u SIS għall-għaqdiet volontarji biex iwettqu proġetti fil-komunità
Għaqdiet volontarji ser jibbenefikaw minn kważi miljun ewro f’fondi
Il-Kunsill Malti għas-Settur tal-Volontarjat (MCVS) għal sena oħra qiegħed jerġa’ jniedi l-iskemi Voluntary Organisations Projects Scheme, magħrufa aħjar mal-għaqdiet bħala l-iskema VOPS, u s-Small Initiative Support Scheme magħrufa bħala SIS. Dawn l-iskemi jassistu finanzjarjament u b’mod tanġibbli għaqdiet volontarji sabiex iwettqu l-ideat tagħhom u jsarrfuhom fi proġetti diretti fil-komunità. Il-baġit allokat għalihom huwa ta’ €800,000 għall-VOPS, u €180,000 għas-SIS.
It-tħabbira tal-ftuħ ta’ dawn l-iskemi saret mill-Ministru għall-Inklużjoni u l-Volontarjat Julia Farrugia waqt żjara li saret għand il-Malta Sea Cadets, għaqda volontarja li ilha stabbilita f’Malta mis-snin sittin u li trawwem id-dixxiplina u interess f’suġġetti marittimi fost mijiet ta’ żgħażagħ u l-adulti. Mill-1995, il-Malta Sea Cadets ilhom joperaw mill-Gunpowder Magazine fil-Kalkara, bini storiku li jservi bħala s-sede prinċipali tagħhom u li permezz ta’ proġett VOPS wettqet ukoll xogħlijiet elettriċi fis-simulatur tagħha, li jintuża biex joħloq xenarju realistiku ta’ dgħajsa li tkun qiegħda tieħu l-ilma. B’dan il-mod, il-cadets jitħarrġu dwar kif għandhom jaġixxu u joperaw b’mod sigur, organizzat u effettiv f’sitwazzjoni ta’ emerġenza fuq il-baħar.
