Content:
This training focuses on strategies for recruiting, engaging, and retaining volunteers while fostering strong relationships between volunteers and organisations.
Key Topics:
- Understanding Volunteer Roles – Aligning volunteer motivations with organisational needs, benefits of volunteering, and the National Strategy on Volunteering 2020-2025.
- Onboarding Volunteers – Attracting skilled volunteers, leveraging communication channels, forming partnerships, and using social media effectively.
- Engagement & Retention – Providing meaningful roles, recognising contributions, and fostering an inclusive environment.
- Volunteer Support – Offering resources, ongoing training, feedback opportunities, and room for growth.
- Learning from Volunteers – Collecting feedback to improve volunteer experiences and strategies.
- Practical Exercise – Group brainstorming to create a volunteer strategy for a mock organisation.
This training equips organisations with essential tools to build and maintain a strong volunteer network.

Deadline to submit your registration is Thursday, 27th February 2025 – noon.
Each voluntary organisation may apply for a maximum of 2 volunteers, nonetheless each participant is to submit their individual registration form with their personal details. This training session will have an intake of a maximum of 40 participants; hence we encourage VOs to submit their application as soon as possible to secure their spot.
