National Volunteering Strategy 2025-2030 – Consultation

This National Strategy on Volunteering builds on the first strategy document published in 2020 – The National Strategy on Volunteering 2019–2024.

This strategy is a natural follow-up to its predecessor, reflecting an ever-evolving, community where the voluntary sector, like other sectors in our increasingly heterogeneous society, is constantly witnessing changes and encountering new challenges. For this purpose, one must address the better use of resources, be they human, physical, and financial, and respond creatively. Participation, engagement and collaboration of all community stakeholders are essential. Volunteering is a positive, natural and spirited way to realise meaningful human interaction, collaboration and purposeful contribution. The transformative effect of volunteering on individuals, organisations, communities and society is a portal to active citizenship, social inclusion and solidarity.

Consultative Process

Contributions are sought in particular from: voluntary organisations, administrators, members, volunteers, individuals and groups of people interested in the voluntary sector. In addition to this, contributions are also sought from both public entities and corporate bodies who support and collaborate with the voluntary sector.

In order to ensure that the goals of the Strategy are met, all stakeholders and the public in general, is being asked to give feedback on the following questions:

  1. What is your opinion on the strategic aims being proposed in this draft document?
  2. Are there other areas and goal which this strategy needs to address?
  3. Does the strategy goals address the needs of volunteers and voluntary organisations?
  4. How do you see the strategic goals being translated to practical measures that will benefit the volunteers and the voluntary sector at large?
  5. What other recommendations may you have to enhance this strategy?

The deadline to provide feedback through the official public consultation link below is Friday 25th April 2025.
