Self- Management Programme was introduced in Malta by ARAM. ARAM is a member of AGORA which is an umbrella organisation of Southern European countries of people suffering from Musculoskeletal Diseases. Through an initiative with Amsterdam, Agora organized Train the Trainee of Self-Management programme for two delegates from each of its member states.  Two delegates from Malta were trained to deliver this course of Self- Management. In order to deliver the course professionally ARAM collaborated and worked with Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Directorate in the Ministry of Health Malta, to plan and deliver the first pilot program and in the delivery of subsequent programs. The program was adapted to the Maltese language and culture. Written resources can be shared as well as the experience in planning and in delivering the program in Malta over the last two years. 

ARAM feels that by training two delegates from Patient organizations, training can benefit more the members of the associations because this Self-Management programme can be adapted and changed to the patients’ needs of the association. The expertise of the Malta Heath Promotion in delivering Train the Trainee of Self -Management  programme for both healthcare professionals and patients together for chronic diseases have been very successful.  

For this aim we are collaborating with the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Unit to help us to deliver this course professionally.
