Co-Creation of the MCVS Hubs

On 22nd November 2019 from 09.00 to 17.00 a workshop will be held at the MCVS Hub Rabat Malta

 Social innovation ecosystem
Daniele will tackle the comprehension of Social Innovation eco-systems including patterns of the pre-conditions to instigate and implement Social Innovations.

Involving Stakeholders in the Innovation Hubs
Daniele Fantechi will share the importance and benefits of involving stakeholders directly into the process, such as academic institutions, NGOs and government agencies, businesses – focusing both on Malta and Italy

 Learning from experience: The Melting Pot (Scotland’s Centre for Social Innovation)

Claire Carpenter will share about the history of The Melting Pot (TMP), in a Scotland/Europe context. She will explore the context for the emergence of coworking internationally; the Power of coworking to build resilient enterprising communities; Impact of TMP’s Collaborate; Case studies of TMPs members. Claire will also explain how TMP was created and, as a founder, what was the need she saw. She will then delve into how to get life / possibilities/ options out of the facilities / space; what the benefits for our clients are and their target audience; and how the space can be used as a vehicle for the Social Innovation journey

Introduction of the Coworking Accelerator & case studies of CW hubs globally Claire will outline the services and why TMP exists. She will share a number of case studies of new coworking hubs created in the world

Co-creating the new Marsaxlokk Hub
Mr Mauro Parascandalo, CEO of MCVS, will make present a walk-through of the new planned hub plan, to be built in Marsaxlokk. A discussion will be held with the aim to determine how such a Hub can flourish using a bottom-up approach.

Community innovation design & prioritisation jam
Mr Godfrey Kenely will facilitate a panel discussion with Claire Carpenter and Mauro Parascandalo. Many issues will be tackled, such as the: practical functionality required at the new hub (e.g. bike racks, Wi-Fi, canteen); Going beyond the basics; Other desired services at the new hub; Developing Mentoring support services at the new hub; and Exploring the use of technology in the Innovation Hubs.
