L’Italia Canta – Traditional Songs from Italy

Our Lady of Victory church in Valletta will be hosting a special lunchtime concert organised by Barocco Events in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa and Dott. Anna Porcheddu featuring the Italian choir Gruppo Vocale MusiKà.  This recital will be held on Wednesday 15 March 2023 at 12:30pm.

Gruppo Vocale MusiKà hails from the area around Villar Perosa, about 40 km southwest of Turin, Piedmont Region, in northern Italy. They started their activity in 2011 and have performed in Italy and abroad under the direction of Maestro Ivan Giustetto.

Their a cappella repertoire ranges from traditional music from different Italian regions to very well-known international pieces, including spirituals.

The programme includes Italian pieces, such as Resterà la luce by Gianfranco Salatin and Giorgio Susana, Come Chiara Speranza,  Mani di luna  and  L’ora della Sera by Marco Maiero and La Valle, Italian version of My Way arrangement by F. Sacchi. The concert concludes with Ohreiro muntagno which is a traditional song from Occitania.

L’Italia Canta – Traditional Songs from Italy will be held at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta on Wednesday 15 March 2023 at 12:30pm.
