The Malta Association of Sports Lawyers (MASL) is hosting the 14th Edition of the Sport & EU Conference on 27th and 28th June 2019 at the Old University Campus in Valletta.

Such conference will be bringing together international and local academics, coaches, players, club administrators and other people with an interest for sports and EU affairs. The two-day academic conference will have a number of speakers speaking about various interesting sport and EU topics, such as health, regulation, match fixing, technology and sport agents just to name a few. This year’s conference coincides with the 10 year anniversary of the coming into force of the Lisbon Treaty.

A Keynote lecture shall be delivered by Alejandra Salmeron, FIFA Legal Counsel, speaking about FIFA’s Article 19 (Transfer of Minor Players).

The conference shall also be having four round-table discussions; sport diplomacy, a panel of local athletes speaking about their struggles and experiences to make it professional, 10 years of direct EU sports policy and Erasmus+ as well as a panel discussing “Hot Topics” in sport.
