Għaqda Mużikali San Leonardu (est. 1858) has the objective of organising feasts in honour of the village’s patron saint, Saint Leonard, and proliferating his cult within the Maltese Islands and beyond. In so doing, it strives to promote the advancement of the culturally rich traditional Maltese festa, the pyrotechnic arts and free musical education to all.

The Għaqda organises summer festivities manifested in sophisticated and ornate street decorations, live music performances in the form of traditional band marches and an elaborate annual concert, spectacular pyrotechnic shows as well as a community radio station. Throughout the decades, this has instilled and consolidated a strong sense of identity within the minute local community of Kirkop.
