a) To promote research on arts and culture in Malta;
b) To support researchers studying Maltese art or conducting research in Malta;
c) To organise lectures, exhibitions, social gatherings, conferences and other similar events with an aim of improving the knowledge and skills of persons present or about to become engaged in the research sector and to stimulate public appreciation of or support for the arts;
d) To serve as a focus of action and information for art historical research and to provide a channel of communication with other networks both locally and overseas;
e) To assist researchers of art and culture by providing financial assistance or by offering the necessary resources for the cultivation of their work in Malta and overseas.
