The Malta Cultural Institute (MCI) was set up in February 1949 to bring back culture to the people after the ravages of World War 2. Since then it has functioned uninterruptedly for over 70 years, organizing Cultural events, educational walks, lectures and exhibitions of Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Ceramics and more. The most important activity of the MCI has been the uninterrupted presentation during these last 70 years of 9 monthly concerts, our season running from October to June. Our concerts include Maltese and foreign performers and artists of all ages, Choirs, Orchestras, Chamber Ensembles, Dance presentations (Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Latin etc.) and a different exhibition every month.
Many musicians and artists who have debuted on the MCI platform have gone on to establish themselves in an international career.
In April 2019 the MCI was registered as a Foundation with the name MALTA CULTURAL INSTITUTE FOUNDATION (MCIF).
