VSDSO is a newly established organisation. Jacqueline Testa and Massimo Camilleri came out with the idea of this organisation as their daughter Yasmine Camilleri Testa was born and after 3 days the doctors told them that she was suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD)
VSD results from an incomplete closure and right ventricles of the partition between the left and right ventricles of the heart which not only strains the right ventricle but also affect the pressure in the lungs. This condition can have serious effects on the individual if severe or untreated. Some defects are small and do not effect the growth or energy of the sufferer and indeed most of these defects close on their own as the child grows but in severe cases the child would have to be operated upon a matter of urgency.
Yasmine was born in September 2010 and after 3 days the professors and doctors told her that she was born with V.S.D. After a long period in hospital and a lot of medical tests were done and after a while they told them that the baby needs to be operated in London. It was a great shock for them but with all the support from their family they managed to arrange everything but it was a very difficult time emotionally and economically.
