The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) is currently inviting voluntary organisations, enrolled and compliant with the Office of the Commissioner for VOs, to submit their interest in hosting vulnerable youth volunteers under the Youth Engage Scheme.
The Youth Volunteer [Engage] Scheme is managed by MCVS in collaboration with Aġenzija Sapport and its aim is to provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to engage actively within society.
Youth Engage shall serve as a tool for young people to appreciate one’s own ability and talents. Further on, this scheme might lead the participants to engage actively within society thus fostering a more inclusive attitude. The Youth Volunteers may undertake a maximum of 30-hour weekly placements with a Voluntary Organisation. Placements may be held for a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 12 months.
In an effort to incentivise voluntary organisations in participating in this programme, we are renumerating voluntary organisations with a monthly administrative allowance for their efforts in supporting youths with a disability.
We are looking for Host Voluntary organisations who can provide voluntary work opportunities related to the below activities:
– Assistance with music or band practice
– Assistance with art and cultural activities
– General help in gardening and agriculture
– General help with animals at animal sanctuaries
– Administrative or clerical assistance
Voluntary organisations who wish to collaborate in this scheme are invited to submit their interest by filling in this google form: https://forms.gle/uKHJ6zevae2QL3xc9
