MCVS National Conference 2024 announced – book now!

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is organising a National Conference on volunteering titled ‘Giving Voice and Visibility to the Sector’.

This is being held on Saturday 4th May between 9am and 1pm at the Westin Dragonara Point Ballroom, St. Julian’s. A stand-up networking lunch will follow at 1pm for everyone attending the conference.

Keynote speaker will be Prof. Maura Pozzi, Associate Professor of Social Psychology on the Faculty of Psychology at the Catholic University of Milano, who will discuss the contribution of VOs towards the community by providing a ‘social added value’ as perceived by volunteers and also by the community itself.

Prof. Suzanne Gatt will also present the results of a research study related to Discrimination in the Voluntary Sector in Malta. Conference will also include a panel discussion and workshops.

Interested members of VOs are invited to fill in the form linked below to reserve a place at the conference. In this form, participants will be asked to choose a workshop out of the following:

Workshop 1: Increasing Social Added Value (SAV) in your organisation
Workshop 2: Addressing Support to the Voluntary Sector in Malta
Workshop 3: The future of the Voluntary Sector – Strategic Direction

N.B. Conference will take place in Maltese with the exception of foreign speakers. In view of this, English to Maltese and Maltese to English interpretation will be provided.

Booking: MCVS has some places left and these will be available on a first-come first-served basis until Thursday 2nd May noon or until it is fully-booked.
Registration is free of charge for members of enrolled VOs.

Venue informed MCVS that parking will be available at Merkanti car park (barriera) at €3.50 per vehicle.
