In the past days Mr Mauro Pace Parascandalo, CEO MCVS, has accompanied Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli, Minister for Inclusion and Voluntary Organisations on an official visit to Egypt. During this visit, Minister Farrugia Portelli signed an agreement with her Egyptian counterpart that will strengthen support for people with disabilities, offer opportunities to young people to do exchange experiences in volunteering in both countries and initiate collaboration in the voluntary sector.

In bilateral meetings between the Egyptian Minister Nivine Riad El-Kabbag and the Minister Farrugia Portelli, the reforms made by our country were discussed when it comes to the rights of people with disabilities and civil reforms.

During the visit, the Maltese delegation visited the headquarters and operational centre of the Egyptian Red Crescent, who are currently working on humanitarian aid in Gaza. Later, the delegation also visited the voluntary organisation ‘Life Makers’ which is the largest organisation in Egypt supporting various areas within the community across Egypt. Mr Pace Parascandalo discussed with the two Voluntary Organisations possible ways of collaboration.
