National Volunteer Awards 2022

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector held the 11th National Volunteer Award. This year the Award was held under the patronage of H.E. President George Vella, in the presence of the Hon. Julia Farrugia Portelli, Minister for Inclusion, Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Rights and Dr. Noel Camilleri, Chairperson MCVS. During the 2022 National Volunteer Awards six awards were presented.

The main award, the National Volunteer Award 2022, went to Ms Corinne Farrugia from RMJ Horse Rescue  and was presented by H. E. President George Vella. The Special Volunteer Award 2022 was presented to Patri Dijonizju Mintoff by Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli. Dr. Noel Camilleri presented RMJ Horse Rescue with the Voluntary Organisations Award 2022.

Matthew Farrugia from the voluntary organisation Home Away from Home was awarded the Victor Calvagna Volunteer Award for Children, presented by the Mr. Jesmond Saliba, Commissioner for VOs. Ms Tatiana Muscat from Multiple Sclerosis Society Malta was awarded the Young Volunteer Award presented by Mr. Mauro Pace Parascandalo, CEO MCVS. The final award was that awarded to the Company that Supports Voluntary Organisations, presented by Mr. Robert Farrugia, Deputy Chairperson MCVS, was awarded to HSBC Malta plc.

The event was presented by Ms. Dorianne Mamo. Luke Cucciardi, accompanied by pianist Caroline Caruana, delivered several songs for the occasion.
