Call for VOs to host youth volunteers with fewer opportunities

The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is currently inviting voluntary organisations, enrolled and compliant with the Office of the Commissioner for VOs, to submit their interest in hosting vulnerable youth volunteers under the Youth Engage Scheme.

The Youth Volunteer [Engage] Scheme is managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS) in collaboration with Youth Services Malta – Directorate for Alternative Care (Children and Young People) within the Foundation for the Social Welfare Services and its aim is to provide an opportunity for vulnerable young people with fewer opportunities to engage actively within society.

Youth Engage shall serve as a tool for young people to appreciate one’s own ability and talents. Further on, this scheme might lead the participants to engage actively within society thus fostering a more inclusive attitude. The Youth Volunteers may undertake a maximum of 30-hour weekly placements with a Voluntary Organisation. Placements may be held for a minimum of 1 month to a maximum of 12 months.

Voluntary organisations who wish to collaborate in this scheme are invited to submit their interest by filling in this google form: https://forms.gle/FwnZSBjUqRQ6fjQDA by Wednesday 15th February deadline extended to Wednesday 22nd February at noon.

For further information, kindly refer to the scheme’s guidelines or send an email on elisabeth.grima@gov.mt.
