RESULTS OF ELECTIONS OF THE MALTA COUNCIL FOR THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR 2023
As the Sector was informed, following the call for nominations from voluntary organisations to put forward nominations to sit on the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, in two specific sectoral groups there were more than one nomination submitted.
The two sectoral groups which had more than one nomination the Health and Special Needs Sector and the Arts and Culture Sector; and the Health and Special Needs. For this purpose an online election was held opening on Friday the 27th of January 2023 at 5.00 p.m. and closing on Saturday the 28th of January 2023 at 5.00 p.m.
The voting was closed at 5.00 p.m. in the presence of the Commissioner for VOs Mr Jesmond Saliba.
The results were as follows:
Council representative for Arts and Culture Sector:
Mr. Paul Mifsud – Għaqda Nazzjonali Każini tal-Banda (VO/0055) 50 votes.
Mr. James Licari – the Malta Association of Professional Conservator-Restorers (VO/0825) 2 votes.
Dr. Sir Narcy Calamatta – ZARARTI Malta Cultural Association (VO/1263) 1 vote.
As a result, Mr. Paul Mifsud is now the elected representative for Arts and Culture Sector on the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.
Council representative for Health and Special Needs Sector:
Ms. Gertrude Buttigieg – the Malta Health Network (VO/0076) 15 votes.
Eur. Ing. Kenneth Abela from the Franciscan Welfare Association (VO/1747) 1 vote.
As a result, Ms. Gertrude Buttigieg is once more the elected representative for Health and Special Needs Sector on the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.
