APPLICATIONS FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE MALTA COUNCIL FOR THE VOLUNTARY SECTOR

In terms of Act Number XXII of 2007, as amended by Act VII of 2015 , XXXI of 2018 and XXXVI of 2018, to regulate voluntary organisations and their administration; the Minister for Inclusion, Voluntary Organisations and Consumer Rights, is inviting applications for the appointment of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector according to section 35 of the Act for the post of:

One (1) member from the Non-Governmental Organisations Sector in Gozo.

This call is being reissued in view of the fact that no nominations were submitted under the initial call.

A person shall not be qualified to be appointed as a member of the Council if such person:

  1. is a Judge, a Magistrate, a Member of the House of Representatives or a Local Council, or a candidate for election to the House of Representatives or a Local Council; or
  2. is legally incapacitated or interdicted; or
  3. has been declared bankrupt or has made a composition or arrangement with his creditors; or
  4. has been convicted of a crime affecting public trust or theft or fraud, or of knowingly receiving property, obtaining by theft or fraud, a crime affecting the good order of the family or of an offence against this Act.

Voluntary Organisations enrolled with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations and are registered in Gozo may nominate for this post of Council Member representing Gozo.

Nominations from voluntary organisations, indicating under which of the above sections the nominations are being made, as well as a Curriculum Vitae (CV) of the nominee, will be received by the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations by Friday 17th February 2023.
